Established late 2019. Just an ordinary night, thinking about going out of my comfort zone. I asked myself how I could make the most out of this year. It has always been a dream, a thought that always comes to mind but easily shrugged off, a goal that has been set countless of times but afraid to go for it.
That same night, I had decided to go for it. That same night, I had planned of making this dream into a reality. I had always dreamed of having a fashion boutique, I am not really a fashionista, but my passion for it has a lot of fire burning in my heart.
Back then, I thought of venturing a lot of businesses - I would think of selling this, and that, anything that I can see, I would try selling it. But of course, in reality, if you want to sell them all, you should have some good sum of money. That - I don’t have, it’s a sad reality.
I had always dreamed of having a one-stop shop. A store that I believe would cater to all walks of life. Not really a big mall like SM or Robinson, but just a small shop that I would gather all products that I believe would make all people who went by to purchase anything because they need it.
I tried to do my research, I found nothing. I went into a nearby mall, and stumble into one of this shop that piqued my interest. I see a lot of different brand names, interesting products, carefully displayed into different racks. That’s when I asked, what do you call this shop? That’s the first time I heard about concept stores. It has since become my favorite spot at the mall - always looking for something new! It never fail to amaze me every time I go there.
That’s where I started to began searching about concept stores, how it works, how to be a brand partner, what are the PRO’s and the CON’s. How does it really differ from having your own brand, your own name, your own product? Where does concept store originated? Why does all of a sudden, there have been a lot of concept stores popping out in every corner. All I did was read, read and read. Then, later on interviewed some of the few people I have known that are into this kind of industry - I had listened to both point of views of a concept owner and that of a brand partner.
So back to the present, still thinking of what major leap of faith I can do to make the most of 2019. Now that I am back to my hometown, I found the courage to start a new business venture here. This is where I decided to build my very own concept store. Back then, I am really not afraid if I don’t get to have enough brand partners with me. Because I have this set of families and friends that are all into business. All I did was to talk to them first, and asked them if they can join me. I received an overwhelming YESSSSS’ssssesss!
Before I had gone public, I had made sure, everything is in order. I had made sure that I have all the answers to every questions. But little did I know that there will still be a lot of questions that needs answers and careful analysis - along the way. That is why I am very thankful that I have with me the best people to help me out, answer any questions I may have.
I am proud to say that in just a month or two of advertising, I had found the sets of pioneering brand partners that will join me as I start our concept store this coming December 2019. I am really happy with the line of products we have because I believe we share the same advocacy.
I know that to some, I may not be their seasoned business partner that they will encounter. I know that some may bat their eyelashes and think I cannot do it. I know that to some, it will be easy to judge me - but I am really thankful that even if they knew I am just a start-up; they still trust me. Believe me when I say, I will not put this to waste. I will work hard to make this successful - make US all SUCCESSFUL.
